The Bulgarian prosecution is counting out the presence of the cheap contraband diesel in the bus as the cause of the fire that broke out after the fatal bus crash that took the lives of 45 passengers two days ago.
Based on preliminary investigations, the police have found 3 tubes with oil residue but they weren’t filled and didn’t catch fire.
The Bulgarian deputy prosecutor, Borislav Sarafov said that investigations have led authorities to believe that no explosion actually took place in the bus. According to him, the cause of the accident is suspected to be a human mistake made by the driver combined with inadequate road conditions.
On the other hand, the Bulgaria prosecution also said that so far, they have found 44 of the dead bodies in the bus, But, they are investigating what could have possibly happened with the 52nd passenger because he isn’t amongst the injured or those who passed away.
There was a total of 52 passengers in the ‘Besa Trans’ tour pus, of whom 44 were declared dead, 7 injured and 1 missing.
The bus went up in flames immediately after the accident and passengers had no way to escape because the door was blocked by the railing on the road.
Amongst the victims there were 12 children, 2 of whom were twins and were found caressed by their mother, who was making a hopeless effort to escape the open flames.
