The Special Court ruled that Gentian Guskavo is to remain in jail after allegations that he tried to corrupt justice collaborator Luftar Reci.
Reci’s testimony helped police uncover 2 infamous murder cases that took place back in 2005, the one of Vajdin Lame and the one of Klodian Saliu.
SPAK ordered the arrest of Gentian Guskavo – also known as the ‘Reqi of Korca’ –after suspicions that he had tried to corrupt Reci.
Guskavo is suspected to have used Reci’s family members to try and convince him to retract his testimony.
The Special Court decided to leave ‘Reqi’ in prison, after refusing to offer him bail.
After Luftar Reci’s testimony, SPAK started a criminal investigation against Indrit Rusi, Viktor Ymeri, Emiljano Shullazi, Indrit Taullau, Plarent Dervishaj, and Lulzim Berisha – the last two, continue to be on the run and on the international fugitives list.
