Former PM Sali Berisha said on Tuesday that Democrat MPs who didn’t attend the National Assembly held on April 30 cannot keep the party hostage with programs handed by the government.
In a press conference from DP’s headquarters, Berisha asserted that the vast majority of MPs will join the majority, as they belong to the Democratic Party and need to represent the opposition.
“There were MPs missing at the Assembly. Once again, their place is in the DP and they are MPs from this force. Obviously, it is impossible for one or two MPs to keep hostage the party through programs appropriated from government offices. That simply cannot happen. Their place is with the majority”, said the former head of the executive.
Berisha added that the by-elections held on March 5 defined who’s the majority among Democrats.
In total 35 MPs were absent at the National Assembly held on April 30, which make up the majority of the party’s parliamentary group.
