Former justice minister Ylli Manjani, said that the process of accession negotiations between Albania and the EU will prove to be actual hell for Edi Rama and his administration.
Manjani told Euronews Albania that when it comes to the requirements presented from Brussels, it will become evident that the government has done absolutely nothing.
“Raising the flag was absolutely ridiculous, there’s no good news to give. That’s fake news. The fact that this day came late, is completely Rama’s responsibility. This isn’t such a festive event. Negotiations with the EU will be complete hell. He hasn’t seen anything yet. When Brussel’s papers start coming in one after the other, it will become obvious that he hasn’t done anything. These negotiations will help us understand how far we really are from the European Union,” – said Manjani.
On Tuesday, the first Intergovernmental Conference between the EU and Albania and North Macedonia took place in Brussels.
The opening of negotiations for Albania will be followed by a technical process that will start with a thorough examination of the entire Albanian administration and legislation so that it can resemble the EU legislation as closely as possible.
This process was commended by European leaders and the US president, Joe Biden.
