“If I would go back to my trials in court, I would take the same decisions”.
These were the words used by former judge Enkelejda Hoxha during an interview on Euronews Albania when asked about her past decisions.
Hoxha said her decisions in court were based on her convictions and in conformance to the law.
“These were decisions based on my inner and personal convictions, and always in compliance with the law. And I would definitely do the same, even if I were to go back”, she said.
Hoxha believes that she has not made any mistakes in her decision-making, despite the nature of the work.
“I do not believe that I have made any mistakes in my decision-making, absolutely not, because of the work I did, the workload, the productivity in my work, which was graded with maximum points on every annual court assessment.
Hoxha was arrested for corruption and is currently being held at a pre-trial detention center, after setting free notorious criminals, and is currently in custody.
In an exclusive interview for Euronews Albania she recounted the moments when three police officers arrived in her office with a search warrant and an order for her arrest.
“They started searching the office, looked into drawers, files, and everything. Then the officer told me that the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime ordered the search given to you in absentia. At the same time, I learned that they were going to search my house as well, so I asked him if they could do that in my presence “, said Hoxha.
