Democratic MP, Ina Zhupa was invited to Euronews Albania’s ‘Today’, during which she showed the names of 5 people who make up the board of the foundation that will manage the ancient site of Butrint.
Elva Margariti
Martin Mata
Aleksandër Sarapuli
Flonja Boriçi
Richard Hodges
In addition, Zhupa displayed a document, that shows that the foundation, which is sponsored by AADF (Albanian-American Development Foundation) was involved in drafting a plan for the management of Butrint, without consulting any Albanian experts beforehand.
Zhupa continued by saying that it is a pity that Butrint’s management plan hasn’t consulted any Albanian researchers or archeologists.
She argued that the concession is also based on this plan, while commenting on minister Maragariti’s stance on the matter.
“These board members aren’t there as a result of their function, but rather they are only members due to a normative procedure,” – said the Democrat.
Lastly, Zhupa raised a question on what would happen with the minister’s role in this panel, when her term as minister ends.
