The head of SPAK, Arben Kraja, stated in an exclusive interview for Euronews Albania that the head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, is under investigation after reports that have been submitted regarding his party funding.
“Yes, they are matters under investigation, investigations continue for those as well. There are some issues related to party funding and lobbying, I can’t say more, but they are currently under investigation. We are investigating the evidence; who will be responsible in the end will only be a result of the investigation”, said Kraja.
During the interview, he emphasized that at no time did they receive any instructions from the international community on any particular issue.
According to Kraja, prosecutors are independent when it comes to the decision-making for the cases under investigation.
