From January 1, flour manufacturing companies will face a 300% increase in electricity.
Director of the Flour Processing Association, Adi Haxhiymeri, said that this will also be the reason for an increase in the price of flour.
According to him, another prospect that is just around the corner and has yet to unravel is the “rise in the price of wheat”.
So far, the spike in prices has been a result of higher energy prices, but very soon, the price of flour that is currently in stock for around 1.5 months, will also rise, according to the expert.
“If prices continue to go up at the same rhythm in the stock markets, companies won’t be able to buy the same amount of wheat anymore,” – said Haxhiymeri.
