During an interview for Euronews Albania, opposition MP Erisa Xhixho spoke about the anti-crisis package, calling it a mockery on the part of the government.
According to Xhixho, the package presented by the government does not help the citizens one bit.
The MP also added that another price increase should be expected in the near future.
“In my view it is insufficient. Indexation of pensions is far from the inflation that is happening today, and let’s not even talk about students who are not mentioned at all. We have said that in order for the citizens to increase consumption, we must provide direct income.
Since March, we have introduced a draft law on oil. On top of all this, it’s our citizens’ wellbeing that is being jeopardized. If the government only provides a pseudo-increase, it is insufficient to meet the price increase. It is hitting the middle class, intellectuals who have much better economic opportunities and they’re still choosing to leave en masse. Today, they’re telling pensioners that fruits are a luxury”, said Xhixho.
