The situation within the Democratic Party seems very far from what the Re-foundation Commission claimed to be its goal. It has started to resemble a race to substitute Basha’s people with Berisha’s people in DP’s branches.
This is what Gentian Gaba said during his interview on Euronews Albania’s ‘NOW’.
According to him, today’s Democratic Party seems as if it’s returned to its former status quo back in 2013.
“It seems as if we’ve gone back to the 2013 status quo. Rama in front of Berisha and Meta. Is this the DP that should have been reformed, that should have opened up and attract young people? This is a key moment gone to waste. September 9 produced the great crisis of Basha’s decision making which produced that great loss of March 6 and Basha’s ousting. It seems as if now we’re faced with a race to close up the holes left behind in DP’s district branches, or a race to substitute Basha’s people with Berisha’s,” – said Gaba.
