The chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, said that the opposition should come up with common candidates in all the municipalities nationwide, for the upcoming local elections.
In a statement for the press, Meta stated that this would be the best option for the opposition, under the present conditions where the country is practically ruled by the mafia.
“Yes. The opposition must come through all over Albania with a list of joint candidates. This is the best option for the present situation, because we are under the conditions of a mafia state. And under the conditions of a mafia state, the opposition should appear as united as possible, because it’s obvious that even in other circumstances, the more candidates, the better it would be for our citizens. But we are not in a normal, democratic situation”, emphasized Meta.
In addition, Meta said that the main objective is the victory of the opposition and that this will be the largest investment of the Freedom Party, despite the fact that every political force has its own ambitions.
