Democratic MP Agron Shehaj said in an interview for Euronews Albania that Edi Rama started to attack him and his business, after he denounced minister Olta Xhacka and Damian Gjiknuri for becoming strategic investors despite a clear conflict of interest.
“After denouncing the Xhacka case [and] the Gjiknuri case, who have become strategic investors through Edi Rama’s signature, after these denunciations, Rama sends the police to my business, with the aim of forcing me to shut up. He saw that I did not submit to him and now he’s begun with the swearing and the insulting. Nothing true here, only lies”, said Shehaj.
The MP also stated that his business is not in a building without a permit and that he has a regular rental contract.
“It is a lie when he says that he entered a building without permission. I have a regular rental contract; I am registered and I pay taxes in that building. A business within a building with a building permit. If the permission was actually violated, who would you need to take action against, [me or the owner]? This is Edi Rama. Instead of punishing the one who built it, he punishes me. He’s just found a way to attack me and that’s that,” argued Shehaj.
