During his discussion with Dutch businessmen in The Netherlands, the minister of energy and infrastructure, Belinda Balluku, declared that until 2025, there will be 3 international airports in Albania.

“We’ve started to transform our civil aviation sector by securing 3 international airports by the end of 2025. One of these airports will be the largest in the region and is currently being constructed in Vlore, in southern Albania,” – said the minister.

In addition, she said that the airport of Vlora aims to offer flights that go overseas to nearby countries and flights that cross the ocean as well.

Balluku also noted that the project for the ‘Blue Corridor’ is underway.

“On the other hand, we’ve also started to draft procedures for the tender of “The Blue Corridor’ which connects Croatia with Greece. We’ve faced a few issues with Montenegro because they are behind on the program but this will definitely be a very important project for the entire Balkan region,” – said Balluku.
