According to the jurist, Ledio Braho, SPAK can start an investigation against former PM Sali Berisha, not only through charges filed against him but also as a result of widely-known facts.

Braho said that the United States’ decision to declare Berisha non-grata on allegations of corruption and an undermining of democracy, didn’t cite any criminal facts.

The jurist also argued that even though PM Rama called on SPAK to investigate Berisha, in the past 9 years of his administration, he hasn’t pressed any charges against the former prime minister.

According to Braho, at a time when there are no charges against Berisha, SPAK can’t be held accountable for a lack of investigation.

In addition, he said that Rama’s statements were all made during SP’s activities and all this speaks to a form of political pressure.
