The lack of a public government plan to protect groups in need, who are being affected by high inflation the most, could induce panic amongst regular citizens, argue economy experts.

Economics professor, Arjan Kadare, explained that in the present conditions when prices of basic food prices have gone up considerably and expenses have gone up for poor and middle-class families, relief packages should be emitted as soon as possible.

“The government needs to offer help to poor families, as well as those currently receiving financial assistance, seniors, and the handicapped,” – said Kadare.

Kadare also noted that if the government will continue allocating the financial assistance plan of 3.000 ALL per month, then they should announce this as soon as possible so citizens can prepare and feel less insecure.

In addition, experts say that it is crucial for the government to apply inflation indexing for the rest of the year.

At the same time, the middle class needs to be given a hand as well, which could be done through policies that alleviate income taxes.

Lastly, experts argued that the government should subsidize fuel for the public sector so that prices can remain unchanged for regular citizens.
