In a press communication, the Kosovo Police has officially confirmed the news reported by Kosova Press, about the fact that a vehicle belonging to the border police was attacked in the early morning hours of Saturday, April 16.
According to the notice, around 03:10 a.m., in the region of Sharpej in Jarinje, two explosions were registered which according to preliminary reports might have been executed through pyrotechnic tools.
The explosions took place close to a police vehicle that had pulled over after conducting an anti-smuggling operation in the area.
Police were also able to find a piece of paper at the scene, which they suspect could be part of the pyrotechnic tools used to prepare the explosion.
“The incident took place close to Serbian territories and we suspect that these objects might have been thrown from Serbian territory. Police have been monitoring an illegal route which was closed some time ago because it was being used to smuggle in contraband goods,” – stated the police notice.
