The Special Appeals Chamber (KPA) has confirmed Anita Jella, as the new Chief Prosecutor at the District Prosecution of Durres.

An earlier decision made by the Independent Qualification Commission (KPK) that approved Jella’s vetting, was appealed by the Institution of Public Commissioners (IKP).

According to IKP, Jella failed to show an acceptable level of reliability when it came to the evaluation of her personal wealth and her degree of professionalism. Therefore, IKP asked the Appeals Chamber to dismiss her from all public functions.

At this point, the Commissioners have asked the Appeals Chamber to reexamine the district prosecutor’s personal wealth.

However, the Chamber has declared that they haven’t found any inconsistencies when it comes to the three categories of the examination namely the prosecutor’s professionalism, their personal wealth, and their integrity.
