The Independent Qualifications Commission (KPK) has confirmed that Tirana’s new District Prosecutor will be Shpetim Garunja.

The decision was made this Tuesday by the judicial troupe led by Roland Ilia, Etleda Ciftja and Pamela Qirko.

513 decisions were made by the first instance vetting for judges and prosecutors in the past 4 years.

199 prosecutors and judges have been confirmed in office, whereas 191 has been discharged.

There have also been cases of judges and prosecutors that have voluntarily left the judicial system and refused to go through the vetting process.
