Kosovo PM Albin Kurti and Serbian president Alexandar Vucic will meet on August 18, in Brussels.
The news was confirmed by the spokesperson of the European Union, Peter Sano.
The news was confirmed by the spokesperson of the European Union, Peter Sano, who said that the two leaders have accepted the invitation of the High Representative, Josep Borrell.
The representative of the EU for the dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, will also be present at this meeting.
“I can confirm that after the High Representative, Josep Borrell, invited both parties to Brussels, Prime Minister Kurti and President Vucic have accepted his invitation. They will be welcomed in Brussels on August 18 by Borrell and EU Special Representative Miroslav Lajcak to discuss the way forward in the Pristina-Belgrade dialogue,” said Stano.
This invitation came at a time of heightened tensions in northern Kosovo after local Serbs set up barricades to oppose two Kosovo government decisions related to Serbian documents and license plates.
The barricades were removed on the afternoon of August 1, and Prime Minister Kurti vowed to postpone the implementation of these two decisions for a month.
