Kosovo’s PM Albin Kurti stated that the opening of accession talks in Albania and North Macedonia intensifies the determination for more reforms in the Western Balkans.

During his remarks in today’s cabinet meeting, the head of government said that yesterday was an important day for the entire region.

On Tuesday, the first Intergovernmental Conference took place between Albania, North Macedonia and the European Union.

The opening of negotiations for Albania will mark the beginning of a technical process that will start with a thorough examination of the Albanian administration and legislation so that it can resemble the EU legislation as closely as possible.

This process was also commended by several European leaders and US president Joe Biden.
