The head of the Lebanese General Security Directorate Major-General Abbas Ibrahim was awarded the Grand Star of Gratitude by Prime Minister Edi Rama for his contribution to the repatriation of the Albanian women and children from Syrian war camps.

In his remarks, the Albanian prime minister commended Major Abbas Ibrahim for all the efforts in helping get out women and children stranded in the camps.

“He has been our point of reference, our stretched arm towards those women and children. He was the best Albanian, who did everything without any interest other than that humanitarian to pull out those unfortunate people from hell. We have withdrawn more than half from them, the efforts are still ongoing, but so do the increased challenges”, Rama said.

Major-General Abbas Ibrahim vowed that together with his staff, he will continue to do everything to free all hostages, regardless of the perils faced.
