Protestors against the French proposal in North Macedonia said they wouldn’t be able to control their anger if parliament were to adopt it during today’s vote.
They are anticipating the discussions on the French proposal in Parliament and if it will get adopted, they promised: “they won’t be even the slightest bit tolerant”.
In addition, protestors have said that they’re afraid that they will lose their language and national identity.
“The proposal might pass, but they won’t. The people are fed up. They can’t stand this any longer. Luckily, the Bulgarians were able to bring us together because we were quite divided. But, whatever the case, they will still have to go!” – said one of the protestors.
“This agreement is damaging to Macedonia and it shouldn’t be accepted! We should get our name back. We won’t allow our history to be changed. No one can possibly know how we the people, will react. Or if we will be able to control our anger,” – said another protestor.
“It’s disgraceful that in the 21st century we are speaking about language and identity. Our nation will show you how we feel!” – said another.
For the past 10 days, protestors have been rallying in the streets of Skopje, asking the government to resign or refuse the French proposal.
Meanwhile, all European and international representatives have been urging N.Macedonia to accept the proposal as the only way to start accession negotiation with the EU.
