“Albania will follow the objective of the World Health Organization on vaccinating 70% of its population by mid-2022”, declared health minister Ogerta Manastirliu following an interpellation from opposition MP Tritan Shehu during Thursday’s plenary session.
Manastirliu declared that 44% of citizens are now more protected from contracting the virus after having received either one or two vaccine doses.
Manastirliu maintained that the government has made a lot of efforts to fulfill its responsibility of providing citizens with the necessary amount of jabs.
“The government has done everything to fulfill its responsibility, secure a necessary amount of vaccine doses so that every citizen can get the jab. In this direction, we’ve made it. This is a fact! Regarding the achievement of the other objective, which is vaccination coverage, of course, that depends on consent, as well as mechanisms recommended by experts”, concluded the health minister.
