Presider Ilir Meta has met the minister of defense Niko Peleshi and the General Commander of the Albanian Armed Forces Bajram Begaj, to talk about the situation in Ukraine.
The head of state has announced this meeting through a public message on social media, where he declared that today’s discussions revolved around the threats facing our country if possible Russian aggression were to erupt in Ukraine.
“This would constitute to a flagrant violation of international human rights. [During the meeting] I underlined the grave importance of establishing effective coordination with NATO, as well as taking the necessary measures for the continuation of reforms, which will serve to further reinforce our defensive capacities,” – wrote the president on a Facebook post.
