N. Macedonia, Bulgaria premiers head to Italy in bid to ease disagreements

The Prime Minister of North Macedonia Dimitar Kovacevski headed on Monday for a two-day formal visit to Italy and the Vatican.

Kovacevski was received by Pope Francis ahead of the celebration on the Day of the All-Slavic educators’ Saints Cyril and Methodius marked every May 24.

During his stay in Rome, the Macedonian premier will meet his Bulgarian counterpart, Kiril Petkov.

The two heads of government will meet in the afternoon to discuss disputes keeping hostage the country’s path to the EU.
