Oil prices are expected to rise even further, warned finance minister Delina Ibrahimaj.
The minister also underlined that this rise will carry on for the next 6 months.
“Stock prices and commodities have been going up for months now. This rise started in 2020 and will continue for another 6 months. Oil prices will absolutely rise as well,” – she said.
In addition, Ibrahimaj said that when prices continue to rise at a steady pace, the government could be able to intervene through support mechanisms that alleviate the impact on regular consumers.
“In the upcoming 6 months, we will be able to see how the price of fuel will fluctuate. We are currently monitoring the situation. We still haven’t come up with a reimbursement policy when it comes to our oil crisis, but others countries have already started to,” – she added.
Lastly, Ibrahimaj announced that a thorough analysis will be published later today, on the tax burden for oil products.
Oil prices in Albania have been going up recently, reaching up to 194 ALL per liter.
