Kosovo’s president Vjosa Osmani has thanked the Albanian president Ilir Meta, who according to her, has been Kosovo’s voice, in places where the country lacked representation.
Osmani also recounted the danger from the proposed border changes, which were fortunately overcome through joint cooperation.
Kosovo’s president continued by saying that Kosovo’s clear objective remains its integration into Euro Atlantic structures in the EU and NATO. According to her, the fact that Albania is part of NATO has enabled greater security in the region – security which will only grow if Kosovo is also able to join the alliance.
“He has been our voice where we lacked representation, and an especially powerful voice against the divisive tendencies that have targeted Kosovo in the past, like the proposed border changes, which were an adventurous and dangerous idea whose consequences are being felt to this day, but which we were, fortunately, able to evade as a result of close cooperation.
During your presidency, we have been able to have an excelled cooperation and coordination, something which I’m grateful for and I would like to thank you. I am very sure that in your future engagements you will once again continue to be a voice for Kosovo, whenever you get the chance,” said Osmani.
