Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani declared on Friday that threats from Russia and its ally Serbia pose a danger to the entire Western Balkan region.

In a joint press conference with her Latvian counterpart Egils Levits, the president sought support for Kosovo’s NATO membership.

“I asked for support in our path toward Euroatlantic integration. These alliances must have their door open for countries like Kosovo”, she said.

Osmani also spoke about the failed attempt to reach an agreement with Serbia over the license plates.

“Serbia doesn’t accept European standards. Kosovo gave its maximum to achieve the agreement, as sought by the EU. In the upcoming days, there will be even more efforts to achieve the agreement”, said Osmani.
