Durres port authorities seized on Tuesday 53 kilos of cocaine at the Durres Airport.

Euronews Albania correspondent in Durres Klodia Gjuzi said the illegal substance was found on a ship transporting charcoal from Barranquilla in Columbia.

53 packages stacked in parcels were hidden in a container anchored in the port on Monday.

Authorities are investigating whether the drug was supposed to be sold in Albania or just passing as transit to another country.
