The leader of the Party for Justice, Integration, and Unity (PDIU), Shpetim Idrizi, declared on Friday that political parties must shift their focus toward concrete names for the Albanian President.
After attending a meeting between representatives of parliamentary groups, Idrizi told the media that the parties have reached an agreement on presenting concrete names.
“We found a food will, it is worth noting that we won’t have a president elected unilaterally, or deeply biased by the majority. We came to terms with SP representatives, that it is time to enter a process of having real names presented. Albanians need that. Let’s start identifying candidates without prejudicing one another”, Idrizi said.
According to him, the new president must be someone with a political background.
“[The new president] must have vast experience in politics. It is the person that represents the unity of the people. A president who carried a consensus would play a great role, and under current conditions, we are well aware that those political balances have been undermined”, he concluded.
