Veterans of Kosovo’s Liberation Army (KLA) entered the front courtyard of Kosovo’s Parliament during their protest today in Prishtina.
Kosovo’s Police are reported to have used teargas against protestors, after which a protestor has been injured.
This protest was called as a result of KLA veterans not being included in the government’s plan to bring up the minimum wage.
The veterans’ retirement benefits are the same as Kosovo’s minimum wage but in a draft bill adopted by the government of Kosovo for an increase in this minimum wage, the same wasn’t applied to veterans’ pensions.
According to the draft bill, the minimum wage would go up from 170 euros to 264 euros.
