How are things going for Albanians in their country? Find out below.
60.2% of Albanians are pessimistic about the progress of the general situation in our country.
In response to the first question posed by Euronews Albania’s Barometer, about 2/3rds felt that things in our country are going very badly. While only 9.5% of respondents think that things in our country are on the right track.
30.1% of those questioned were undecided, while 0.2% didn’t answer.
Pessimism was even more accentuated when we asked Albanians about the progress of the economic situation in their country, 69.3% of whom said it was negative.
Only 6.2% think that the economy in Albania is currently doing well.
23.9% see economic opportunities in their country as both good and bad and 0.6% refused to answer.
When it comes to the economy in their own home, 51% of respondents rate it as very bad. While 12.8% had a positive assessment.
According to respondents, the main problems facing our country are the economy (84.7%), emigration (67%), the high level of criminality and corruption which got 41.2% of votes, and healthcare (27.8%).
For those who think that the main problem is the economy, the biggest contributors according to them were the basic food basket (46.8%), low salaries (25.7%), unemployment (15.9%), and transportation costs (10.7%).
But according to most citizens, the situation isn’t likely to change any time soon (57.2%), while 23.1% said we are moving in the right direction.
Findings from Euronews Albania’s Barometer in collaboration with MRB Data Centrum were extrapolated from data on 1.000 face-to-face interviews with Albanian adults carried out from 9-21 September 2022, at a national level.
