MP Fatmir Mediu said that the opposition should be united when it comes to the negotiations for the election of the new President of Albania.
During his appearance on Euronews Albania’s ‘NOW’, Mediu said that no political party that has any sort of political weight or electoral power – like the Socialist Movement for Integration – should be left out from this process.
“We should approach this by representing the interest of the entire opposition, the interest of all those who voted for the opposition on April 25. And we can’t leave out any MPs or political parties. We can’t possibly leave out a party like SMI from this process,” – said Mediu.
According to Mediu, there needs to be more understanding in order to appoint 3 personalities who will represent the will of the opposition to negotiate.
This Wednesday, DP’s designated leader, Enkelejd Alibeaj, made an agreement with the head of SP’s parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, to officially start the process of electing the new president on May 10.
