The Albanian State Police have arrested 16 drivers and suspended 39 drivers’ licenses, under the framework of recent measures put in place to prevent roadside accidents.
From last night until this morning, a total of 2.874 administrative measures have been enforced, for reasons including lack of seat belt, using a cellphone while driving, or wrongful overpassing.
Last Monday, the General Director of State Police, Gledis Nano, announced a new order for the establishment of an inspection group to control, analyze and take concrete punitive measures against citizens responsible for road accidents.
In addition, Nano called for more coordination in regards to the identification and punishment of all drivers who don’t respect the rules of road traffic and circulation.
