The Court of Tirana has decided to impose the security measure “Arrest with prison” for 31-year-old Gert Shehu, who attacked the chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha during the protest of December 6, punching him in the face.
The first hearing, which took place at the Trauma Hospital, where Shehu is admitted, lasted only a few minutes.
His lawyer, Ervis Lila, asked for a milder measure like “house arrest”, or forced hospitalization but it was not accepted by the court.
Chief Democrat Sali Berisha continues to accuse Prime Minister Edi Rama of this attack, saying that it was ordered by him. Meanwhile, the 31-year-old, according to Berisha was infiltrated by the State Police.
