The Specialist Prosecutor’s Office has added more charges against four ex-war leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, and Rexhep Selimi are now accused of new war crimes, apart from those in their indictment that led to their 2020 arrest.
In a document submitted to Court, the four officials are now being accused of the involuntary detainment of at least 12 individuals from 4 July 1998 to 29 April 1999.
Allegedly, some of them were tortured after being accused of espionage and collaboration with Serbs at a house 1 Km away from a KLA military base in Budakova.
The Prosecution claims that at least two people died at the hands of former KLA commandos during arbitrary arrests, kidnappings, and torture. Their bodies were exhumed in 2000.
The four senior officials are being held at a pre-trial detention center at The Hague.
