General Prosecutor Olsian Çela traveled on Monday to Fier and Vlora to meet with district attorneys.
Sources confirm that the main topic on the agenda is electoral offenses, while last week Çela urged cases to be handled with priority and transparency.
During his visit to Fier, Prosecutor General Çela urged district attorneys for prompt and thorough investigations.
“The scope of the visit is related to the state of the electoral offenses investigations from the Prosecution Office of Fier. There are several meetings being conducted over this matter. It is crucial to display maximum prudence and a swift and thorough investigation, as well as show transparency”, Albania’s Prosecutor General said.
The Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime has received 40 cases of alleged electoral offenses, while several lawsuits are also being investigated by the General Prosecution.
