PM Edi Rama stated that NATO’s new strategic concept highlights the importance of the Western Balkan’s role in the alliance.
In the joint press conference with NATO’s Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Brussels, Rama underlined that it is important to continue the dialogue with Western Balkan nations, including Serbia, even though it isn’t a member state.
“The new strategic concept that has just been adopted, emphasized the strategic role of the Western Balkans in NATO. We believe that it is utterly important to continue an ongoing dialogue with all countries of the Western Balkans, including Serbia, which isn’t part of our alliance but it is part of our region,” – declared the head of government.
Amongst other things, during his word, Rama expressed the need to consider Kosovo’s inclusion in the Partnership for Peace, even though he acknowledged that there are political limitations for several allies.
