PM Edi Rama responded to Euronews Albania’s question at the first Intergovernmental Conference for Albania and the EU, by saying that there were no representatives from the Albanian opposition in Brussels because it is still unclear who the opposition really is in our country.
“We followed a format that was predetermined by the Commission and included the entire troupe that would represent Albania in the roundtable. Naturally, we could have asked to make a change and invite a representative or two, but we have a problem and that is that we aren’t sure yet who the opposition really is,” – said Rama.
This Tuesday, the first Intergovernmental Conference between Albania and the European Union took place in Brussels.
The opening of negotiations means that a technical process will now begin that will include a complete examination of the Albanian state administration and the entire Albanian legislation so that it can come as close to resembling the EU legislation as possible.
