“No one is immune before the law, not even those in the ruling party, their political parties cannot help them any longer”. This is what PM Edi Rama declared during today’s First Intergovernmental Conference between Albania and the EU that is currently taking place in Brussels.
In addition, he pledged that Albania is now functioning through an independent justice.
“We destroyed the old justice palace. We have new institutions now, SPAK and BKH are fundamental elements of this new era. If years ago, you would have asked someone in Albania about what the chances were to see a politician behind bars, they would have laughed at you.
Today, no one is immune before the law, not even those in the ruling party; their political parties can’t help them any longer. An independent judiciary and equality before the law is possible and attainable in Albania,” – said the head of government.
