Prime Minister, Edi Rama declared that the two satellites that will monitor Albania from cosmic heights with clear precision are ready to be launched into space.

Through a post on social media, Rama emphasized that Albania will have exclusive use of them, for the processing of Geospatial Information, as well as the provision of imaging products and other components, of a number of institutions and subjects.

“Ready to be launched into space from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA, the two super-technological eyes that will monitor Albania from the heights, with a high precision and complete image clarity up to 75 cm2; Satellites of ALBANIA 1🇦🇱 and ALBANIA2🇦🇱

Albania will have exclusive use of them, for the processing of Geospatial Information (GIS) as well as the provision of imaging products and its other components, of a number of institutions and subjects, public or private, whose work is related to the territory, waters, forests, fires, urban waste, agricultural production, urban development, property titles, and so on,” Rama wrote on Facebook.

$6 million dollars will be spent by the Civil Defense Agency, an institution under the Ministry of Defense for monitoring the territory by satellite for 3 years.

The contracting authority has declared the American company “Satellogic USA” Inc. the winner of this tender with the competitive dialogue procedure.
