The Democratic Party MP, Belind Kellici, has not ruled out the possibility of being a candidate in the race for the Municipality of Tirana.
He said this in an interview for Euronews Albania, during which he was asked if he was ready to face the current mayor Erion Veliaj in the upcoming 2023 local elections.
“I think that every politician in the opposition today would expect a battle with Erion Veliaj, the biggest asset that DP has in this upcoming battle is Erion Veliaj, he is the weakest mayor that Albanian pluralism has produced and he is the biggest hypocrite that may have ever existed in our political system. I wish for Veliaj to be in the race and no one else” – said Kellici.
On the other hand, a few days ago in an interview for Euronews Albania, Edi Rama said that currently, the Socialist Party has no better candidate than the current mayor Erion Veliaj, for the upcoming local elections in Tirana.
Therefore, from the opposition, former democratic MP Gert Bogdani said that if the DP leadership would have him, he would agree to run for the Municipality of Tirana.
