Democratic MP Ervin Salianji said that the Re-foundation Commission should be included in the procedure of electing the new president.
In a statement for the press outside the Parliament building, Salianji said that there can’t be a meeting of DP’s parliamentary group today because the required quorum isn’t met.
According to him, the Democratic Party should function with its own rules, not those set by PM Edi Rama.
“There was no meeting of the Parliamentary Group’s leadership today. There have been efforts led by me, to include MPs from DP’s re-foundation commission in this meeting as well. We function on the basis of DP’s regulations, not Rama’s. I’ve communicated with the majority of MPs and I haven’t been made aware of a meeting of the parliamentary group today. There can’t be a meeting because there is no quorum,” – said Salianji.
The head of DP’s parliamentary group, Enkelejd Alibeaj, has called a meeting of a Democratic MPs today at 14:00, during which Democrats are meant to discuss the procedure of electing the country’s new president.
