As of 1:30 p.m., the next hearing for the mandate of Foreign Minister Olta Xhacka has started at the Constitutional Court.
In this second session, it was the group of Democratic MPs who support Sali Berisha who submitted to the court the request for the removal of her mandate as a member of parliament and minister.
It is learned that present at this session are Democrats Agron Shehaj, Luciano Boci, Albana Vokshi, Oerd Bylykbashi and Edmond Spaho.
The legal representative of the opposition MPs, Franc Nuri, stated that it is not up to the Parliament to decide whether it is a violation or not, but up to the Constitutional Court.
“Parliament violated the constitution by not taking the case to the Constitutional Court. The Constitutional Court must solve the case on its own merits”, said Nuri.
It’s worth mentioning that the opposition claims that the mandate of the Socialist MP, Olta Xhacka, should be considered invalid because her husband directly benefited from public property by being declared a strategic investor by the Committee headed by Prime Minister Edi Rama in a direct conflict of interest.
