On Monday, the second national protest of lecturers took place at the University-Corpus in Tirana.
According to sources for Euronews Albania, it is expected that lecturers from public universities in the districts will also join the protest.
This was the second national protest of lecturers, who have addressed a series of demands to the government, among which are salary increases and more funding for scientific research.
Meanwhile, students have not joined the protest, even after the teachers’ call.
On the other hand, the head of the government Edi Rama, in his meetings with citizens, has emphasized that he does not support the protest and will not give in to their demands.
The head of the government has also underlined that the university must provide its own income seeing that it is an autonomous body.
