Democratic Party chairman, Sali Berisha, accused PM Edi Rama of siding with the Russian president, Vladimir Putin and Serbian president, Alexandar Vucic, after choosing to remain silent in regards to the tensions erupting recently in northern Kosovo.
Through a post on social media, Berisha said that Rama presented the issue as a simple refusal of local Serbs of the agreement, who according to him, had their own reasons to.
On July 31, Serbs in northern Kosovo put up barricades and blocked roads in Jarinje and Bernjak, due to the government’s decision to equip Serbians coming to Kosovo with RKS license plates and documents.
This decision, according to the government of Kosovo, is only a result of reciprocity seeing that the Serbian government does the same to Kosovan citizens entering Serbia.
The decision has since been postponed until September 1 later this year.
