Democratic Party leader, Sali Berisha called the publication of files that allude to former president Ilir Meta’s collaboration with former State Security Services during communist Albania, an “ugly and embarrassing manipulative act ordered by PM Edi Rama”.
Through a post on his social media account, Berisha said that Rama is completely terrified by the opposition, which is why he is now attacking Meta through the Files Authority, adding that this is a forged and manipulated document.
According to Berisha, Rama is looking to blow smoke in order to cover for his thefts over the past 23 years in power as mayor and prime minister.
Former president Ilir Meta is the high-ranking politician with the initials I.M. who was being spread around in the press yesterday, to have been involved with the former State Security Services during Hoxha’s regime.
