Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said today that Russia absolutely supports Serbia when it comes to the current situation with Kosovo and that he believes Prishtina’s actions against Serbs living in the northern communes are unfounded.
The Kremlin spokesman said that Moscow believes that Western countries that have recognized Kosovo’s independence should use all their influence to warn the authorities in the commune not to take any reckless steps that could lead to a further escalation of tensions, wrote Euronews Serbia.
He added that now that the implementation of the agreement has been postponed by one month, all sides must be careful and that Moscow demands that the rights of Serbs living in Kosovo be respected.
“We support the peaceful, constructive attitude of Belgrade, the calls for peace and constructivism made by the President of Serbia,” said Peskov.
