Journalist and activist Isa Myzyraj reported that 10 Albanian LGBT+ activists who participated in the Pride Parade in Belgrade were attacked and assaulted by a group of Serbian extremists.
In an interview with Euronews Albania, Myzyraj said that there was a group of 10-12 people dressed in black who blocked their way before entering the hotel and physically assaulting them, by beating, punching and kicking them.
“They attacked a young boy, then 3 girls intervened and were assaulted as well with kicks and punches. Only 10 meters away were the police who did not intervene, even though they saw the whole attack. It was necessary for 4 activists to go and shout in front of the police for them to intervene to remove them, but not arrest them”, the journalist said.
He expressed his indignation at the indifference of the Albanian embassy in Belgrade, which, as he said, had no contact with the group of activists to inquire about their condition.
