DP’s former deputy chair, Jozefina Topalli said on tonight’s ‘Now’ with Erla Mehilli that Sali Berisha is responsible for not reacting sooner about the situation that was building up within the Democratic Party.
According to Topalli, if everyone had intervened, they wouldn’t have allowed Rama to continue his past 12 years of bad governance.
“Mr. Berisha has a responsibility like all of us, some more than others, for the silence during this period. It could be a little delayed. In fact, had we all intervened a little sooner, we wouldn’t have allowed this kind of government, which we still have to endure to this day and which has been going on for the past 12 years,” – said Topalli.
In addition, Topalli accused the current DP chair, Lulzim Basha of pushing the party away from its mission as the country’s opposition, by casting out everyone that thinks differently.
This is why, according to her, the ‘Pulpit tour’ has turned into a democratic movement that “has energized, not only the Democratic Party but all Albanians”.
“If on December 11, Berisha will be able to show Albanians the names of all the members that called a convention, then there won’t be a December 18,” said Topalli.
